The Product
About the App
PayLinkz is a fintech product that lets people collect every payment profile they use — PayPal, Cash App, Venmo, Zelle and others — into a single shareable URL. Instead of asking “what payment app do you have?”, someone can send one PayLinkz link and the payer chooses the method that already works for them.
Computing Yard built the web and mobile experience: a public payment profile, a dashboard for managing links, analytics and QR codes, and theme controls so each profile can look the way the user wants. The live product is at paylinkz.app.

Project Goals
One place for every payment profile
People were splitting their payment details across PayPal, Cash App, Venmo, Zelle and similar apps. The goal was a single profile that could hold all of those methods.
Make getting paid as simple as sending a URL
The product needed to replace the back-and-forth of usernames and app-switching with one request: send me your PayLinkz URL.
Keep onboarding and sharing frictionless
The app had to be easy to start using, with a public page that anyone could open without installing another payment app first.

Challenges
Project Challenges
Fragmented payment preferences: Payers and payees rarely shared the same apps. Venmo, Cash App, PayPal and Zelle all had loyal users, so collecting money meant guessing which method would work.
Clunky handoff between apps: Asking for a username, opening the right app, and typing it correctly was slow and error-prone, especially in everyday situations where nobody was carrying cash.
A simple experience for a messy problem: The product had to feel immediate: add payment profiles, share one link, and let the other person choose. Complexity in the payment landscape could not leak into the UI.

Our Approach

Start from a real payment problem
The brief came from a situation the client hit constantly: needing to pay someone and not knowing which app they used. We treated that question as the product’s core job to remove.

Design a shareable payment profile
We designed a public page and in-app flow around one URL, with clear payment buttons, QR sharing, and a short onboarding path so new users could publish a profile quickly.

Build web and mobile together
The stack combined a React Native app with a React web experience, Node.js and Express on the backend, Firebase, Mixpanel and Heroku — so the same payment-link product could live on phones and at paylinkz.app.

Ship a live product people could share
We developed and deployed PayLinkz as a live app and website, with a dashboard for managing links, themes, analytics and the public profile behind each username.

One PayLinkz URL
Each user gets a public page such as paylinkz.app/username. Sharing that link is enough — the payer does not need to hunt for a username across apps.

Dashboard, copy link and preview
The homepage dashboard shows the live PayLinkz URL with Preview and Copy Link actions, plus a list of payment links that can be edited, shared or removed.

Analytics on the profile
The product includes activity, location and profile-view analytics so users can see how their payment link is being opened.
Multiple payment methods in one profile
Users can add the payment apps they already use, including PayPal, Cash App, Venmo and others, then turn each method on or off from the dashboard.
QR codes for in-person sharing
A QR flow lets people present or scan a PayLinkz profile when typing a URL is inconvenient.
Profile themes
Users can preview and apply visual themes so the public payment page matches how they want to show up.
