The Store

About the Store

Laetus Store already sold apparel online and asked Computing Yard to expand that store into custom clothing. The goal was to let customers design their own pieces from products already listed in the catalog, so the shop could offer unlimited unique articles without replacing the existing e-commerce catalog.

We added customization classified by colour, design, size, and other product options, plus a preview of the finished article on a model so shoppers could see how it would look in real life. Laetus Store also received a dashboard for artists and designers who wanted to showcase their work and earn a percentage of the profits from their creations. Campaign creation is staged: create a design, set the price and duration, then describe the campaign.

The public storefront remains at laetus-store.com. Computing Yard’s recorded work is the custom-apparel e-commerce and designer dashboard described here. Duration, team size, and client quotes were not recorded on the original project page.

Challenges

Project Challenges

  • The catalog needed unique articles without a full rebuild: The client already had an e-commerce store and wanted customization on listed products so the shop could carry unlimited unique articles rather than a separate catalog.

  • Shoppers needed to trust a custom design before buying: Colour, design, and size options only work if customers can picture the finished garment, not just a flat print file.

  • Artists needed a way into the store: Designers and freelancers needed a dashboard to publish work and share in the proceeds when those designs sold.

Process

Our Approach

  1. 01

    Customization on existing products

We added options for colour, design, size, and related features so shoppers could personalize apparel already in the catalog.

  2. 02

    On-model preview

Completed designs could be viewed on a model, giving customers a real-life sense of the finished product.

  3. 03

    Designer dashboard and campaigns

Artists and designers received a dashboard to showcase work. Campaign creation follows a three-step flow: create the design, set price and duration, then describe the campaign.
